Crusaders Downed by Simpson

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team lost their non-conference matchup with Simpson College (IA) 3-0 on Saturday.  They fall to 1-2-0 on the year.

It was a tough day for the Crusaders, as Simpson were dominant from the first whistle to the last.  Cassie Nash wreaked havoc at the front for Simpson and found the back of the net after a 45 yard solo run to give the Storm a 1-0 lead after 24 minutes.  They would take that lead into halftime, with Dallas unable to test the keeper for the remainder of the half.

The best chance of the game for UD came in the the 63rd minute when Nevaeh Coronado found herself through behind the Storm's back line.  It was a foot race to the goal, with a defender hot on her heels, Coronado was forced to take her shot earlier than she would have liked, and the effort from the ege of the box nestled safely in the keepers hands.

It perhaps could have been a turning point in the game, as the Crusaders would have tied it up 1-1 at that point.  Instead, Simpson came right back down the field almost immediately and went up 2-0.  They would add their third goal seven minuntes later to seal the deal, as there would be no more meaningful chances for either side.
