2021 UD Top Performer: Coppi Catches Fire in SCAC Tournament

IRVING, Texas – We will be taking a look back at top individual performances and moments from the spring of 2021. It was a unique semester in which the University of Dallas had 15 NCAA sponsored sports competing.

Andrea Coppi propelled the Dallas women's soccer team to its second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship match, where the team ultimately fell to top-seeded Trinity University. The third-seeded Crusaders scored all their goals from Coppi, as the freshmen tallied all her points in the tournament. Her pair were responsible for a 2-1 victory in Irving over sixth-seeded University of St. Thomas in the quarterfinals. Coppi then snuck in the golden goal in double overtime to lift UD past second-seeded Southwestern University, 1-0. Coppi's trio of goals in the tournament tied Nicole Johnson ('14) for most goals scored in SCAC Tournament games.
