UD Women's Soccer Takes Road for First Time this Spring at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. – The University of Dallas women's soccer team is scheduled to play away for the first time this spring season. UD (1-1, 1-1 SCAC) will be at Centenary College on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Dallas dropped a 3-2 result last Sunday to Texas Lutheran University.

Worth Noting

Avery Seaman (Bedford, Texas) has recorded two goals this season for the Crusaders. Another freshman teammate Kaityn Cline owns the other one.

Courtney Bokanyi (Montgomery, Texas) is another newcomer in the point's column with an assist. Bridgette Alpar (San Antonio, Texas) is the one returner with a point as she assisted a goal in UD's win.

Centenary (6-0, 2-0 SCAC) is unblemished on the year and has posted five straight shutouts. The most recent was a non-conference 3-0 win over Mississippi University for Women on Tuesday.

The wins against the league have been 3-0 at St. Thomas and 1-0 versus Austin College.

Avery Gilbert and Gabby McDonald are the top scorers with three each. McDonald has chipped in two assists to give her a team-high eight points. Maggie Pitcher has worked four shutouts and grabbed 21 saves and a 95.5 save percentage for her work so far thus season.

These teams played twice in 2019 with the Ladies claiming one-goal wins in each. The match on Mayo Field was non-conference and still early in the season with Dallas falling 2-1. The game in Irving was 3-2 on a wet day.
