No. 25 Trinity Pushes by UD Women's Soccer on Friday

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 result at No. 25 Trinity University on Friday evening. The Tigers (13-3, 7-0 SCAC) stayed unbeaten in conference play, using a three-goal second half to highlight the offense on the night.

The Crusaders (9-6-1, 5-2 SCAC) withstood the top-25 ranked Trinity squad for 45 minutes, as it put 12 shots off in each half. UD just surrendered a goal to Camryn Beal from Abby Blackwood in the 17th minute, but otherwise would trail by one at the break.

A pair of quick goals through the opening five minutes of the next stanza pushed the match out of reach. Beall connected a little over a minute in the second goal of the match and her second of the game. Kaity Ward assisted the goal and moments later put in Trinity's third goal. An own goal occurred with less than seven minutes in regulation to complete the scoring plays.

UD was unable to counter often, being held to no shots nor corner kicks, while Trinity put 14 shots on target and was awarded 11 corner kicks. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) made 11 saves in 90 minutes, while Trinity's Paige Wallace had a clean sheet.

The setback pushes Dallas down to third in the standings with Centenary College defeating Texas Lutheran University, 2-1. With the Ladies holding the tiebreaker, Dallas will seek earning the number three seed in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament hosted at Southwestern University in Georgetown on November 8-10.
