GAME INFORMATION
The University of Dallas women's soccer team begins Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play with road matches at Southwestern University on October 4 at 6 p.m. and Texas Lutheran University on Oct. 6 at 12 p.m.
MATCH NOTES
- Dallas is 1-2 on the season-long, five-game road trip. Fell 3-0 and 2-1 at St. Thomas and Centenary last week.
- The Crusaders are 2-2 against SCAC opponents.
- Alyssa Mencacci (League City, Texas) remains the team leader in goals (4) and points (9).
- Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) has made seven appearances (six starts) in goal. She has a 1.33 goals-against average (GAA) and 23 saves in 540:21 minutes.
- UD was picked seventh in the 2019 SCAC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll with 32 points. Southwestern came in second with 68 points and Texas Lutheran was tabbed third (59).
(Opponent Notes)
- Southwestern enters with an 8-2 record overall. They fell at Trinity University last Sunday.
- The Pirates rattled off seven wins to start the campaign and are 6-1 at the friendly confines. SU did fall 2-0 to McMurry University in its other setback.
- Southwestern has posted six shutouts, all in a row to start the year.
- Keep an eye on Alexis Guajardo who has four goals for eight points, and Maya Fuller has contributed three goals for six points.
- Mary Cardone has an 87.7 save percentage, 50 saves, and a 0.77 GAA in 10 starts.
- Texas Lutheran University enters 5-3-1 on the season and is 3-0 at home.
- TLU blanked Schreiner University last week, 3-0. The Bulldogs are 3-2 versus league foes.
- The Bulldogs host Austin College on Friday prior to welcoming UD.
- Mariela Candelario has amassed three goals and two assists for eight points. The team has totaled 91 shots and placed 50 shots on goal.
- Madison Stout leads a trio of freshmen goalkeepers with 498:01 minutes in goal. She has 34 saves but has surrendered 13 goals. Krystal Pulaski has logged 232:16 minutes and made 19 saves and allowed two goals.
