DENVER, Colo. – The University of Dallas women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Johnson & Wales on Friday. The Wildcats went up at the 5:37 minute mark on a goal by Asianna Harris. Rebecca Brock assisted with a cross from left middle.
Johnson & Wales only had one other shot the remainder of the match but would keep the Crusaders from shooting the equalizer. Mason Cosgrove (Las Cruces N.M.) led UD with three shots – all on frame.
Dallas only had two shots at halftime and would put four more up in the next half. Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) took the other shot on goal, while May Lien Le (Katy, Texas) recorded two more shots. The team earned five corner kicks and held Johnson & Wales without one.
JWU's Katelyn Peters turned in a clean sheet in the shutout with four saves made against that amount faced. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) took the hard-luck loss with that lone goal allowed in 90 minutes.
These teams met earlier this season in Irving for the conference opener, and that was also back-and-forth and decided by a single goal.
UP NEXT
Dallas returns to Texas for the rest of the road trip. Things start on October 10 at Austin College in a makeup match due to a weather postponement from a few weekends ago. Kickoff is down for about 8 p.m.
