KICKOFF
The University of Dallas women's soccer team returns to action on Friday against Schreiner University. Kickoff is slated for around 7 p.m. after the men's match. Dallas will then host No. 21 Trinity University on Sunday around 2 p.m.
Dallas is coming off a pair of setbacks since its last home match earlier this month when it knocked off Howard Payne University 4-1. The Crusaders are 1-4-1 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Their last scheduled match at Austin College was postponed due to weather. A makeup has been announced for October 10.
UD NOTES
- Elisa Duran (Pomona, Calif.) is the team leader in goals with 3 – all coming on a hat trick performance.
- May Lien Le (Katy, Texas) holds a pair of goals, with both in conference games.
- Dallas has scored seven of its nine goals this season in the second half.
- Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) leads the UD goalkeepers in minutes played (270:10) and saves (14). Natalie Kutac has shared keeper duties with 250:33 minutes and garnered 12 saves.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS
(Schreiner University)
- The Mountaineers carry a 2-5-1 record and 1-4 SCAC record entering Friday. They have dropped two straight, with the most recent setback being 3-0 versus Trinity.
- Schreiner has also compiled nine goals as a team.
- Lindsey Fitz paces the bunch with three goals. Cailee Morgan adds two.
- Jordin Toso has notched 28 saves in 622:12 minutes.
- Dallas went 0-1-1 last season against SU, with the match in Irving favoring the guests 2-0. The all-time series for UD is 20-5-1.
(Trinity University)
- The Tigers enter the weekend 6-1-1 overall and 5-0 in SCAC play. They kept their conference unbeaten streak going on Tuesday with Schreiner. TU is 2-0 in away matches.
- Trinity moved up one spot to No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
- The Tigers are outscoring opponents 33-2 overall.
- Chelsea Cole leads the conference and team in goals with 10. She is tied atop the league in points (22).
- Seven of the eight individual leader categories for offense and goalie are held by a Trinity player.
- Dallas dropped both decisions in 2017 to the Tigers.
