USCAA proclaims Sexton a 'Second Team' All-American, labels three others 'Honorable Mention'

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dallas junior forward Claire Sexton has been elicited a 2012 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Soccer Second Team All-American, while Marin Chambers, Nicole Johnson and Emily Rogers check in as USCAA Honorable Mention All-Americans.

These accolades come for head coach Kristina Corona's squad after a 12-8-1 season, which included a 4-3-1 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and an appearance in the SCAC Championship as the No. 2 seed.

Sexton (Salem, Va.) had her 2012 season derailed by injury, but managed nine goals and four assists for 22 points in 12 games played. She was previously named a 2011 USCAA All-American, and a 2010 Honorable Mention selection.

Chambers (Anchorage, Alaska), a senior midfielder, tied Sexton's team-high mark of nine goals in 2012. Her outright lead of seven assists merited 25 points in 21 games to pace the Crusaders.

Johnson (Houston, Texas), a sophomore forward, was Dallas' third-leading scorer in 2012, tallying six goals and as many assists for 18 points in 17 games played. She was previously pegged a 2011 USCAA Honorable Mention selection.

Rogers (San Antonio, Texas), a junior defender, anchored a strong defensive attack, tallying three goals and as many assists for nine points in 20 games played. She was previously heralded a 2011 USCAA Honorable Mention All-American.
