Women's Soccer responds with 7-2 drumming of Millsaps College (MS), as Chambers tallies two

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team (6-1) trounced Millsaps College 7-2 on Sunday afternoon, atoning for their first loss of the season a day prior.

Fueled by two goals from senior midfielder Marin Chambers (Anchorage, Alaska), Dallas bombarded the Lady Majors' goalkeeper Elise Davis with 17 shots on goal.

Junior forward Claire Sexton (Salem, Va.) started the scoring barrage for Dallas, finding the back of the net just five minutes into the half. Sexton broke free down the left side of the field where sophomore midfielder Michelle Carpenter (Sugar Land, Texas) played her a through ball for Sexton's team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Millsaps (2-4) retaliated with a goal in the 10th-minute to even the score, but Dallas charged right back, scoring in the 11th-minute on the first of Chambers' two goals.

Roughly seven minutes later, Chambers found twine again, putting the Lady Crusaders ahead for good.

Junior defender Emily Rogers (San Antonio) gave Dallas an extra tally in the 25th-minute of the half, turning a once close game into a rout.

Dallas opened the second half, firing on all cylinders. Freshman defender Marissa Garcia (Lubbock, Texas) scored on Carpenter's second assist of the game, putting Dallas ahead 5-1.

The scoring continued when freshman forward/midfielder Mariah Fairbanks (Rocklin, Calif.) netted a 52nd-minute goal for her first of the season.

Sophomore defender/midfielder Kaitlin Meske (Waco, Texas) joined the scoring party, registering a 60-minute tally from a rebound in front of the net, giving Dallas their seventh goal of the game.

In all, the Lady Crusaders ended with a 29-9 shots advantage, making life easy for Dallas' goalkeeper tandem of senior Brigid Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) and freshman Antonella Escarfullery (Plano, Texas), whom each made two saves in addition to surrendering a goal apiece.
