Win streak halts at five games for Women's Soccer, as Lady Crusaders fall 2-0 to Marymount College (Calif.)
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The University of Dallas women's soccer team (8-2) had their five-game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon, with the Lady Crusaders falling 2-0 on the road to Marymount College (Calif.).
5-foot-5 sophomore goalkeeper Brigid Hasson (Fairfax, Va./Trinity at Meadowview) was peppered with shots throughout the game. She managed to record 12 saves on the afternoon, but did surrender two goals.
Marymount's Ariel Meadows netted the game-winner at 27:05 and McKenna Reiser provided insurance at 65:22.
5-foot-3 sophomore defender Emily Rogers (San Antonio, Texas/MacArthur H.S.) led Dallas with five shots (two on goal), while 5-foot-5 junior midfielder Marin Chambers (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage H.S.) also registered two shots on goal. The Lady Crusaders were outshot, however, 19-16.
Marymount's 2-0 win over Dallas marks the second time the Lady Crusaders have been shutout on the 2011 season, with Howard Payne University providing the other instance in a hard fought 1-0 triumph on Sept. 10.
Though Dallas could not muster a victory over Marymount, the Lady Crusaders were able to finish their Calif. trip with a 2-1 record, outscoring opponents 10-3.

A first year member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), Dallas will begin conference play on Friday, Sept. 30, with a road contest against Birmingham-Southern College at 6 p.m. in Birmingham, Ala.
