Women's Soccer braves the elements, shuts out Austin College

Amid heavy rain and driving winds, the University of Dallas women's soccer team (4-9-1) bested Austin College in a game that was eventually called with 3:46 remaining in regulation due to inclement weather.

Last week's USCAA player of the week, Claire Sexton (Salem, VA/Salem H.S.), netted her team leading 12^th goal of the year, and second game winner, for the contest's only goal.  The freshman forward's score came with 22:49 remaining in the first half. 

Freshman keeper Brigid Hasson (Fairfax, VA/Trinity at Meadowview) earned her fourth shutout of the year, stopping all seven of the Kangaroos' shots on goal. 

UD competes next, Oct. 26, at Howard Payne. The start is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., central time.
