UD Women’s Soccer Dominates SAGU in Away Game

Freshman midfielder Emily Rogers (San Antonio, TX/MacArthur H.S.) provided the first UD goal off a penalty kick, and fellow freshman midfielder and Texas native Colleen Moore (Katy, TX/Pope John XXIII) registered the second goal in unassisted fashion.  Freshman forward Claire Sexton (Salem, VA/Salem H.S.) kept the youth movement going and knocked in the third Dallas goal off an assist from sophomore forward Summer Northern (Castle Rock, CO/Douglas County H.S.). Senior midfielder Hannah Langsfeld (Albuquerque, NM/Albuquerque H.S.) added an unassisted insurance goal to seal the game.

Out of the four scorers, three were freshman. A good sign that first year coach Kristina Corona has the team headed in the right direction. With a sprinkling of veteran leadership and firepower, the 2010 team could be poised for good things.

The 1-0 UD women's soccer remains on the road when they make the drive to Longview, TX to take on LeTourneau University at 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 7.
