The University of Dallas women's soccer team got back on track early and often in their 10-0 win over Southwestern Adventist University. Facing a five game losing streak and five straight games against SCAC opponents, UD didn't waste any time getting on the board with a score just over five and a half minutes into the contest. The team rattled off five more goals in the half to take a 6-0 lead into the break, and ultimately added four more scores in the second half.

Freshmen midfielder Marie Meagher (Grand Forks, ND/Red River H.S.), forward Leslie Solis (Irving, TX/Irving Nimitz H.S.), and forward Melissa Carpenter (Sugar Land, TX/Stephen F. Austin H.S.), each contributed two goals to lead an offensive barrage that included 10 goals and 47 shots from 16 different players. Also joining in the scoring were freshman midfielder Briana Gomez (Wichita, KS/Kapaun Mt. Carmel H.S.), sophomore midfielder Breanna Flores (Abilene, TX/Abilene H.S.), junior defender Mary Gaffney (Cascade, CO/Manitou Springs H.S.), and junior midfielder Hannah Langsfeld. (Albuquerque, NM/Albuquerque Academy). Meagher and Carpenter provided the double assists on Solis' opening goal, while senior forward/defender Lindsay Arrend (Napa, CA/Trinity Grammar & Prep) and Carpenter was once again assisted on Solis' second score. Freshman defender/midfielder Casey Regian (Friendswood, TX/Friendswood H.S.) assisted Meagher's goal and Carpenter assisted Meagher's second goal for her third in the game. Junior forward Mary Ruth Alzheimer provided the assist on Langsfeld's goal, the final score of the game. The defense rose to the occasion as well, allowing no shots throughout the entire game. Senior goalkeeper Jennifer Boryca (Piqua, OH/Piqua H.S.) and sophomore goalkeeper Emily Pelech (Plainfield, IL/Joliet Catholic Academy) split time in the net and saw little action.

With the win the Crusaders improved to 4-7 on the year. Their next game will be played at home on Saturday, October 10 at 2:00pm when visiting LeTourneau University comes to town.
