Lady Crusader Soccer Holds Off the Yellow Jackets
The women’s soccer team defeated the LeTourneau University
Yellow Jackets 1-0 for the second consecutive win. The victory
brought their record up to 5-7. The game was scoreless at half time
before the Crusaders got on the board in the 81st minute.
With a close game played primarily at the midfield, senior goal
keeper Jennifer Boryca’s (Piqua, OH/Piqua H.S.) provided UD
with 4 saves in her rare opportunities. Freshman midfielder/forward
Leslie Solis (Irving, TX/Irving Nimitz H.S.) also capitalized when
given the chance, and the defense held on in the last 10 minute.
Solis was assisted by freshman forward Melissa Carpenter
(Sugarland, TX/Stephen F. Austin H.S.) and junior midfield/defender
Natalie Weisse (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown H.S.).
The 5-7 Crusaders will play their next game on Friday, October 16
against Sewanee at Crusader Field. The game starts at 4:00pm.
