THE LEAD

The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team makes its final road trip for the season on April 16-17. Dallas will be at University of Northwestern for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday. The season concludes the next morning at 11 a.m. against Augsburg College on the campus of Hamline College.

Dallas is 3-10 overall and on a four-game road trip currently. The last outing for Dallas was a 13-6 victory two Sunday's ago at Loras College.


CRUSADER NOTES

- Freshman Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) gained a narrow edge in the category lead for points and goals with 24 and 21, respectively. She tied a career-high of five in the most recent triumph.

- Seniors Colby Madrigal (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas) have been steady offensive forces with 23 and 22 points, respectively.

- Rodgers has come on big with eight assists to lead the squad.

- Rodgers is even in rounding out the double figure scorers this season with sophomore Sarah Schmitz (Huntington, N.Y.). The duo has posted 14 goals apiece.

- Madrigal leads the team in groundballs with 28 and draw controls with 31. Rodgers follows with 23 groundballs and 21 draw controls.

- Freshman Kyla Mangham (Oklahoma City, Okla.) has worked 600 minutes in the goalkeeper position and notch 65 saves.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

University of Northwestern is 1-10 on the season and dropped seven straight matches. The lone victory for the Eagles was at home. The most recent game was a 24-4 loss to North Central University (IL). The final four games of the ledger are at home.

Jordyn Broberg has scored 19 goals to lead the team. She is second with 21 points. Eugenia Chamberlain headlines the offense with 24 points. The point's team-leader has attempted 19 shots and scored 12 goals. That total matches the same amount of assists, which is also a team-best. Emily Wirtz has scored 10 goals to round out the double-digit scoring trio this campaign. Sydney Werlein has made 50 saves in 504:23 minutes of work in the cage.

The programs play each other for the first time in history.

SCOUTING THE AUGGIES

Augsburg College enters with an 8-5 record and fell on Friday to Hamline College by a final of 10-8. It is the second straight setback, as the Auggies were topped by Illinois Tech on Wednesday (11-7). Augsburg has faced a few other UD common opponents this spring. This includes defeating Carroll University (14-2) and Wartburg College (12-10).

Helena Nguyen leads the offense with 29 goals, 36 points, 51 shots, and 44 shots on cage. Her seven assists are tied second with Delaney Everett. Sheala Osborne ranks second on the team with 20 shots and is the team-leader in assists with eight. Ashley Pettipiece has contributed 15 goals, Everett is next with 13, and Rachel Frantz rounds out the quintet of double-digit scorers with 10. Marissa Guillou has logged 631:10 minutes and amassed 83 saves.

Dallas is 1-0 in the overall series between these squads. That match occurred beyond digital records dated back through 2011.
