Women's Lacrosse falls Tuesday at Franklin College

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (2-4) could not overcome an early deficit on Tuesday afternoon at Franklin College (1-0) by a final of 13-6. The Grizzlies won their season-opener and scored five unanswered goals to build an 8-1 lead at halftime. This included a hat trick by Lexi Ingram, as she sank the feat in just under six minutes with FC's first three.

Senior Colby Madrigal (Laguna, Calif.) ended the scoring drought for Dallas, and got the team on the board with her 11th goal of the campaign nine and a half minutes into the stanza. Madrigal's unassisted goal was her fifth at the time on this road trip and gave her a career-high in a season with 11.

The midfielder would start the next 30 minute-span with consecutive goals in less than a minute out of the first draw control. It was Madrigal's third hat trick this season and in the past four contests. She tied a season-high, four points, with an assist on freshman Annie Elfelt's (Brookfield, Wis.) first collegiate goal.

After the Lady Crusaders initially cut the margin to five points (8-3), the home team piled a run of three straight scoring plays to build the edge back to seven with 16:17 in regulation. This included consecutive goals from FC's Paige Clark.

Senior Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas) did tally a goal on a free position shot to give her a three-game scoring streak. The senior's eighth goal on the year did spark three goals in a row for UD. Freshman Lexi Leite (Houston, Texas) scored with 11:29 remaining and Elfelt found the back of the cage with 10:27.

Dallas completed the stretch of three road games in four days with a 1-2 record.
