YEAR IN REVIEW: Women's Lacrosse

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team finished the 2015 spring season with a 5-7 record. Dallas matched the previous campaign's victory total, which had marked a four-win improvement for third year Head Coach Melissa Grant.

NOTABLE MOMENTS

  • Senior Mary Hilker posted a team-high 22 goals (second time in career to pace squad) on the season.
  • Dallas outscored opponents 112-109 overall.
  • Tied a school record for goals in 21-1 victory versus University of North Texas. Previous mark was against same opponent in 2006.
  • Won final three of four contests at home, including consecutive triumphs against Cornell College and Benedictine University.
  • Senior Christine Jablonsky shattered a career record in saves with 360 at the time versus Olivet College on Mar. 19.
  • Picked up first win of campaign in 16-2 decision versus Cornell College on Mar. 8. UD attempted 30 shots and watched eight different players score.
  • Freshman Erin Chadwick poured season-best, seven goals in 21-1 win against North Texas on Mar. 22. Chadwick finished with 19 netters on the year.
  • Six Lady Crusaders cracked double figures in scoring this season. Behind Hilker and Chadwick included: junior Hayley Rodgers (18), freshman Patty Hahn (13), senior Meghan Falconer (12), and junior Colby Madrigal (10).
  • Freshman Sarah Schmitz compiled five of her eight goals during the first four games of a five-match road trip.
  • Dallas went 5-0 when landing at least 10 goals in the back of the cage, and were 4-0 on Sundays after March 1. The Navy and White went 4-2 overall on that day of the week.
  • Rodgers produced four-straight hat tricks, including a season-high four goals in a 13-7 win versus Benedictine University on Mar. 15.

SCHOOL RECORDS

  • Jablonsky posted a pair of records in the program with an individual season mark of 9.25 goals against average, and finished with 415 saves in three collegiate seasons for the Navy and White.
