Hahn and Madrigal post Career-Highs in big Women's Lacrosse win Sunday

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (4-6) defeated College of St. Elizabeth (0-10) by a total of 18-2 on Sunday afternoon. The victory ends a two-game skid for Dallas, as the squad posted its second highest scoring output of the campaign.

UD is 4-0 when it totals double figures, and the 18 netters were a season-high in road contests this season. CSE remains winless on the season, and has dropped 10 in a row.

Freshman Sarah Schmitz (Huntington, N.Y.) notched the first goal in the route for the Lady Crusaders. Schmitz has scored in a season-long, three-straight affairs, all coming on this current road stint.

Within the first seven minutes of regulation, Dallas achieved a four-goal advantage. Freshman Patty Hahn (Plano, Texas), senior Mary Hilker (Haslett, Mich.), and junior Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas) were all involved in placing the ball in the back of the cage during that span.

The Navy and White would tally the first seven goals, before the Eagles got on the board from an Amanda Inacio netter. Kassandra Ortiz teamed up with the assist on that goal.

UD would add another pair, both from Hahn who matched a game-high five goals. Her numbers double the rookie's season-scoring total, as she notched a season-best in the triumph. The visitors led 9-1 at intermission.

Junior Colby Madrigal (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) tied Hahn with five goals, which lifted her to a career mark, and added two of UD's season-most, five assists.

Rodgers generated a game-high 10 shot attempts, with seven on cage. Madrigal was right behind with nine, and Hilker and Hahn each added six.

Hilker finished with three goals, giving her stretch of four games in a row, the midfielder has found the back of the net. She has scored in seven of the last eight, and notched her third hat trick this year.

Senior Meghan Falconer (Kohler, Wis.) and Rodgers round out the multi-scoring performers for the Navy and White with two apiece. Rodgers picked up nine groundballs, while Madrigal added eight. Schmitz and Hahn totaled seven groundballs apiece.

Dallas mustered team-best this season, 45 shot attempts, compared to CSE's five in the contest. The Lady Crusaders also held a 54-20 edge in groundballs.

Meghan Bonilla also scored for the Eagles to complete the scoring for them. Inacio shot twice and scored one of her pair of shots on goal. Ortiz managed five grounders, while Kiana Cunningham contributed four.

In the goalkeeper position for St. Elizabeth was Sarah Briant. In 60 minutes, she picked up 15 saves while facing 33 shots against. Senior Christine Jablonsky (Colorado Springs, Colo.) got the win in a complete game effort. She notched two saves.
