Women's Lacrosse downed at Purchase College on Saturday

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (3-6) were defeated 17-5 at Purchase College (9-1) on Saturday afternoon. Dallas has fallen in two-straight, while the Panthers won back-to-back and triumphed on their Senior Day.

After allowing two goals within the first four and a half minutes, a netter by junior Colby Madrigal (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) nipped the margin in half. It's the midfielder's fourth goal of the campaign.

The Lady Crusaders put one in the back of the cage again with 14:36 until intermission by senior Mary Hilker (Haslett, Mich.). She led the squad with the only multiple goal outing on the day with a pair.

Dallas trailed 14-2 at halftime. PC scored 11 unanswered before freshman Sarah Schmitz (Huntington, N.Y.) ended the run with 22:50 left in the contest. Junior Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas) and Hilker tallied the final pair of goals to round out the scoring. Rodgers has totaled 15 netters for second on the Navy and White, and has found the back of the cage in five of the past six.

Schmitz has scored in back-to-back road affairs, and moved her total amount of goals in the attacker's rookie season to five.

The Panthers outshot Dallas 36-13, with Amber Brisacone leading the barrage with eight. It was a team effort for the home squad, with Zoe Hines contributing six and a trio of Purchase members totaling five. Madi Smith, Samantha Rich, and Kelly Turtell round out the bunch.

Rodgers had a team-high, four shot attempts and Hilker placed all three of her shots on cage for a percent percentage.

Senior Christine Jablonsky (Colorado, Colo.) recorded 10 saves against 27 shots through 60 minutes between the pipes. Her counterpart Caitlyn Sosa (9-1) stopped four saves in a complete 60-minute effort.
