Women's Lacrosse defeated on Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (3-5) dropped a 15-5 decision at Oklahoma Baptist University (9-1) on Saturday afternoon. It is the second time this campaign Dallas has been setback versus the Bison. UD also moves to 0-2 away from Crusader Field, after coming off a six-game home stand.

Dallas knotted the affair 1-1 on a goal by freshman Erin Chadwick (Tampa Bay, Fla.) with 19:21 in the first half. It took nearly 10 minutes into the contest before either squad broke onto the scoreboard.

OBU went on a 4-0 run to shift the momentum in its favor the next 10 minutes. The Navy and White blasted consecutive netters by freshman Sarah Schmitz (Huntington, N.Y.) and senior Mary Hilker (Haslett, Mich.) to complete the scoring in the stanza for the road group.

A quartet of goals throughout the final 7:11 lifted the home team to a 9-3 edge at intermission.

The Bison would push its first double-digit margin with a 13-3 mark in the second frame. Paige Morrison, who tallied a game-high six goals, would be instrumental during this quarter with four of them.

Senior Anne Belton (Luray, Va.) claimed her first multi-goal contest of the year, found the back of the cage twice for both UD's scoring plays in the latter quarter.

Hannah Dowell also notched a hat trick for the Bison, while Kyra Gilbert and Emily Gilbert scored twice apiece.

Oklahoma Baptist held an edge on shot attempts 31-18 and groundballs 36-21.

For Dallas, senior Christine Jablonsky (Colorado Springs, Colo.) stopped eight shots on cage against 23 and worked the entire 60 minutes.

Sabrina Attaway (9-1) took the win as the goalkeeper for an entire contest, while nabbing seven saves.

NEXT OPPONENT

Dallas heads north for a pair of games on Apr. 11-12. The first opponent is Purchase College for a 12:00 p.m. (EST) start. After that UD goes to College of St. Elizabeth.
