Senior Day goes well for Women's Lacrosse on Sunday; Tie scoring record against North Texas

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (3-4) capped a six-game home stand with a stellar 21-goal performance to match a program best, and sent five seniors out in winning fashion Sunday against University of North Texas.

Dallas finishes the stretch at Crusader Field 3-3, and last posted 21 goals in a contest back on Apr. 11, 2006 against the Mean Green. The score was 21-5 that campaign.

UD prevailed by a 20-point margin and began early with the first four goals occurring from freshman Erin Chadwick (Tampa Bay, Fla.) The rookie notched a hat trick within the first five minutes of the affair. She extended a team-lead in scoring to 18, as the midfielder produced a game-high, seven goals to reflect a personal record.

Senior Meghan Falconer (Kohler, Wis.), junior Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas), and freshman Patty Hahn (Plano, Texas) each netted a trifecta of goals, and helped add to the Lady Crusaders' historical scoring output.

Rodgers has clinched a quartet of hat tricks this season, all coming consecutively throughout the remainder of the home stand. It was Falconer's and Hahn's first trio of scoring games this year.

Rounding out the group with multi-scoring performances were junior Colby Madrigal (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and senior Mary Hilker (Haslett, Mich.) with a pair apiece.

Dallas benefitted from 13 goals in the first stanza, with the visitors ending the run as time expired into halftime. The Navy and White outshot UNT 43-4, and placed 39 attempts on-goal. Both categories were season-highs for the squad.

The groundball count also favored UD 28-18.

Erin Bodish and Michelle Beck split time in the cage for the Mean Green. Bodish nabbed 12 saves against 25 shots, while Beck stopped six versus 14.

Emily Bodish tallied the only goal for the Green and White.

Senior Christine Jablonsky (3-4) took the win in 60 minutes for Dallas. The keeper made three saves on the afternoon while facing four attempts.

Prior to the contest, seniors Anita Villalpando (Baytown, Texas), Anne Belton (Luray, Va.), Hilker, Falconer, and Jablonsky were all honored for representing the 2015 class of Dallas women's lacrosse.

Dallas takes to the road for a lengthy five-game span to finish out the season. March 28 the Lady Crusaders rematch with Oklahoma Baptist University at 3 p.m. OBU claimed an early match-up at Irving, Texas, by an 8-6 final.
