Southwestern gets past Women's Lacrosse on wet Sunday

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (0-2) dropped a 15-2 decision on Sunday versus Southwestern University (2-1). It was also the first setback for the Lady Crusaders at home this early campaign.

SU poured 12 goals in the first half to build a comfortable lead as the rain began to pour heavier throughout the afternoon. Courtney Ragland for the Pirates got her squad on the board just over four minutes into the affair. Less than a minute later, Kate Davis found the back of the cage and doubled the Black and Gold's edge.

Dallas scored consecutively in the final three minutes before this contest met the official game requirements of 48 minutes. Netting goals for the home team were sophomore Mary White (Slinger, Wis.) and junior Hayley Rodgers (Houston, Texas). The pair of netters were the duo's firsts this season.

White added an assist on the second scoring sequence to boast her to a team-high points.

Senior Christine Jablonsky (Colorado Springs, Colo.) picked up eight saves in 48 minutes as the goal keeper; while her counterpart, Jordan Little, earned the win while grabbing two saves.

The contest was called early due to poor weather conditions.
