Hilker selected as SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week

MARY HILKER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman midfielder on the women's lacrosse team from Haslett, Mich., has been has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending June 3, 2012.

In the 2012 season, Hilker played 11 games at attack/midfield, scoring five goals on 14 shots, with 12 shots being on goal.

Hilker is a force on the lacrosse field as well as in the classroom and in her community. She maintained a 3.6 GPA her freshman year on a full-time course load and a number of extra-curricular activities. 

Hilker has volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul, a local thrift store and with the University's Admissions office. She is a prudent student-worker for her school, working in the fitness center as well as for head men's basketball coach Jarred Samples. Some of her responsibilities include recruiting, managing schedules of other student-workers, and aiding the athletic director.

She is an active member in Crusaders for Life, Crusaders for Kids, UD Swing Club, UD Ultimate Frisbee, French Club, and Rotaract Club.

Hilker is a dedicated student-athlete and is a great addition to the University of Dallas community.
