Women's Lacrosse dominant in win over Texas Christian University

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (3-8) holds a two game winning streak, after defeating Texas Christian University's (TCU) club team, 18-3, on Thursday evening at Crusader Field. 

Once again, sophomore attack Mary Salotto (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline H.S.) led Dallas in scoring, netting the first three goals of the game and then added two more throughout the game; she also had three ground balls and three draw controls.

Meanwhile, senior midfielder Christine McFarland (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park H.S.) played a solid game, winning 10 ground balls and seven draw controls, in addition to also registering three goals. Junior midfielder Teresa Tesoriero (Phoenix, Ariz./Veritas Prep) finished with three goals, four ground balls and two draw controls.

Dallas had a decent spreading of goals on attack. Junior midfielder Becky Williams (Lyman, S.C./Marianapolis Prep) had one goal and one assist. She also recorded two ground balls. Senior defenders Meghan Frost (Bandera, Texas/Northshore H.S.) and Hannah Piper (Lake Charles, La./St. Louis Catholic H.S.) both had one goal apiece; Piper also had two ground balls and one draw control. Junior defense Julianne Watkins (South Bend, Ind./St. Joseph's H.S. had one goal, two ground balls and one draw control, while sophomore Irene Harris (Cockeysvile, Md./Maryvale Preparatory) finished with one goal and one ground ball. Last, but not least, freshman Celina Gonzalez (Spring, Texas/Klein H.S.) came off her injury, strongly, by scoring two goals on three shots on goal.

In goal, freshman Samantha Mason (Elgin, Texas/Elgin H.S.) played the first half, making one save off of two shots on goal. Anna Massey (Amarillo, Texas/River Road H.S.) took her place for the second half, and the senior came out with three saves from five shots on goal.

Dallas looks forward to getting a few more wins as they travel to Colorado this weekend to face Colorado College on April 9th and Westminster on April 10th.
