Women's Lacrosse wins big on road versus Marymount College (Calif.)

RANCHOS PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (2-8) picked up their second win of the season, as the Lady Crusaders defeated Marymount College on the road, 20-7.

Dallas came out strong right from the beginning, netting 12 goals in the first half, while holding Marymount to only four in the initial half.

The Lady Crusaders controlled the ball for most of the second half as well, scoring eight goals to Marymount's three. Sophomore attack Mary Salotto (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline H.S.) led the scoring for UD with five goals and an assist. Senior midfielder Christine McFarland (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park H.S.) played a solid game, winning the majority of the draw controls, en route to a four goal two assist performance.

Once again, Dallas did a good job of spreading the goals around to everyone on the field. Junior midfielders Becky Williams (Lyman, S.C./Marianapolis Prep) and Teresa Tesoriero (Phoenix, Ariz./Veritas Prep) had two goals apiece with an assist from Williams.

Junior midfielder Katherine Dautenhahn (Tulsa, Okla./Tulsa School of Arts & Science) tallied three goals while sophomore Irene Harris (Cockeysvile, Md./Maryvale Preparatory) netted two of her own. Senior defense Hannah Piper (Lake Charles, La./St. Louis Catholic H.S.) had a goal in the last few minutes of play, and even freshman goalie/attack Samantha Mason (Elgin, Texas/Elgin H.S.) netted a goal for the Crusaders.

Mason was Dallas' goalkeeper for the first half of the game, where she amassed five saves on nine shots on goal. Senior Anna Massey (Amarillo, Texas/River Road H.S.) took her place for the second half, and came out with two saves from five shots on goal.
