Women's Lacrosse taken down by Tennessee Wesleyan University

JACKSON, Miss. - The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team (1-1) was defeated by Tennessee Wesleyan University, 13-4, on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Millsaps College.

Dallas fell behind early, as Tennessee Wesleyan snuck two goals by Lady Crusader senior goalkeeper Anna Massey (Amarillo, Texas/River Road H.S.) to open the first period. Massey recorded six saves for the game.

The Lady Crusaders got on the board at the 24:57 mark of the first half when senior midfielder/attack Christine McFarland beat Tennessee Wesleyan goalkeeper Nicolette Dungee for the score. McFarland finished with all of Dallas' four goals, with every one being of the unassisted variety.

After McFarland's initial score, things spiraled out of control for Dallas, at Tennessee Wesleyan scored the contest's next nine goals. For the game, Dallas held a 24-9 deficit in terms of turnovers, and a 25-8 shot discrepancy resulte in favor of Tennessee Wesleyan.

Sitting at .500 on the season, the Lady Crusaders now turn their attention to the Missouri Baptist University Spartans, whom Dallas will square off with on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 3:00 p.m. in Clayton, Mo.
