Women’s Lacrosse Dominates LaGrange, McFarland Sets Record Again

The University of Dallas women's lacrosse team added a win to their record in a neutral site game against LaGrange this weekend in Sewanee, TN. The team held the 6-5 lead at the break before adding 12 in the second while limiting LaGrange to 2 goals. Junior midfielder/attack Christine McFarland (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park H.S.) set the UD record for the most goals in a game for the second time this season in the lopsided 18-7 victory. She set the record at 10 earlier this season in a game against North Central College after setting the standard at 9 goals her freshman year in a matchup against Adrian.  McFarland also added a team high 10 draw controls 2 grounds balls, and caused a turnover.

Freshman midfielder/attack Mary Salotto (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline H.S.) backed McFarland up with 7 goals of her own and added an assist, 3 groundballs, 4 draw controls, a caused turnover, and was a perfect 3-3 on free position attempts. Several others had great games namely sophomore attack Katherine Dautenhahn (Tulsa, OK/Tulsa Schools of Arts & Sciences) and junior defender Becky Williams (Lyman, SC/Marianapolis Prep).  Dautenhan finished with 3 ground balls, 2 draw controls and a caused turnover, and Williams provided the assist on one of McFarland's goals, picked up a ground ball and added a draw control.  As a team, Dallas picked up 17 ground balls, won 19 draw controls, and caused 6 turnovers in the 11 goal win.  Junior keeper Anna Massey (Amarillo, TX/River Road H.S.) helped with the win totaling 8 saves during the game.

Next up for the 3-9 UD team is the season finale against Sewanee on Sunday at 12:00pm.
