Women's Golf in Fourth Heading Into Final Round of SCAC Championship

WHITNEY, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team is in fourth place after the second of three rounds at the 2024 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, hosted at the White Bluff Resort in Whitney, Texas.

Trinity University is holding onto their day one lead with a score of 305 (+17), giving them a 26 stroke lead over second place Southwestern University.  The Crusaders shot 337 in round two, 20 strokes better than their round one score, and now lead fifth place Schreiner by 32 strokes.  UD is 39 strokes behind third place St. Thomas.

The top two individuals remain unchanged, with Southwestern's Ryleigh Erickson leading Trinity's Erin Flynn by five strokes.  Kimberly Burch fell one spot down to fourth place with a 78 in round two; Jessica Mason of Trinity shot 74 to take third place.  Burch still leads the field in Par 5 scoring at -2 for the tournament, and is tied for second place with 23 total pars.

Claire Kirby showed massive improvement, shaving 10 strokes off her day one score to shoot 82 and climb one spot to 17th.  Lauren Waltzer shot 88 and Madi Meduna shot 89 to end the day in 20th and 21st, respectively.  Gabby Ramirez climbed one spot to 28th with a 98 in round two.
