Women's Golf Takes Sixth at Space City Classic

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up play in the Space City Classic in Houston, Texas on Tuesday.  The Crusaders finished in sixth place in the field of 10 teams with a two-round score of 686 (+118); they were five strokes ahead of seventh place Concordia-Texas and 10 strokes behind fifth place Southwestern.

Mary Hardin-Baylor were the team champions with a score of 616 (+48), as they clung to a one stroke lead over runners-up, Trinity.

Sarah Kmiecik of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the individual trophy with a two-round score of 146 (+4).  She and Trinity's Kiona Hsiu both shot a 74 in round two, but Hsiu finished as the runner up at +8 for the tournament.

Kimberly Burch secured the 19th top 10 finish of her career with an 83 in round two, finishing in seventh place with a two-round score of 156 (+14).

Madi Meduna shot a 90 to post a score of 174 (+32), finishing in a three-way tie for 30th.  Lauren Waltzer shot an 89 in round two to finish T33 with a score of 175 (+33), and Clair Kirby finished in 38th with a score of 181 (+39) after shooting 94 in round two.  Gabby Ramirez finished in 50-th with a score of 204 (+62).
