Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season with Fourth Place Finish at Chicken Express Classic

PLAINVIEW, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team played their final day of fall competition at the Chicken Express Classic on Tuesday.  After three rounds of play, the Crusaders took fourth place with a total score of 995.  Odessa Junior College were the team champions with a final score of 877, holding an eight stroke lead over runners up, New Mexico Junior College.

Nanami Haykawa of New Mexico Junior College maintained her lead with a 69 in round three to claim the individual title by three strokes, finishing -5 for the tournament.

Kimberly Burch shaved four strokes off her round two score to shoot a 75 in round three, climbing two spots on the leaderboard to 19th place as the leader for UD.

Lauren Waltzer and Claire Kirby finished neck and neck with each other, Waltzer with an 88 in round three to finish in 25th and Kirby with an 85 to finish in 26th.  Madi Meduna shot an 83 to finish in 28th with a final score of 256, and Gabby Ramirez shot a 94 to finish in 31st with a total score of 267.

This was the final event of the fall portion of the season for Dallas.  The Crusaders played in four events, placing second in the Tempest Intercollegiate, sixth at the UMHB Fall Invitational, and fifth at the UHV Fall Classic prior to this week's tournament.
