Women's Golf Wrap Up Day One of Chicken Express Classic

PLAINVIEW, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team opened competition at the Chicken Express Classic hosted by Wayland Baptist University on Monday.  After 36 holes, the Crusaders are in fourth place in the field of six teams with a total score of 664.  Odessa Junior College are the current leaders with a total score of 587.

Nanami Hayakawa of New Mexico Junior College fired two rounds of 71 and is in sole possession of first place with a total score of 142.

Kimberly Burch leads UD in 21st place after shooting rounds of 83 and 79 for a two-round score of 162.  Lauren Waltzer (pictured) is two strokes behind Burch in 24th place with rounds of 80 and 84 for a total of 164, and Claire Kirby is in 26th after shooting rounds ofg 81 and 87 for a total score of 168.  

Madi Meduna and Gabby Ramirez round out the field for Dallas, both with two round scores of 173.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
