Women's Golf Take Fifth at UHV Fall Classic

VICTORIA, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up competition at the UHV Classic hosted by the Unviersity of Victoria-Houston on Tuesday.  The Crusaders finished in fifth place in the field of six schools with a two-round score of 725 (+149).  The university of St. Thomas also represented the SCAC at the event, finishing in third place at +113.

Our Lady of the Lake (OLLU) finished in first place with a two-round score of 674 (+98), defeating the hosts by six strokes.  Emily Madeley of Blinn College defeated OLLU's Kendall Ward in a playoff to claim the individual title.

Kimberly Burch shot rounds of 84 and 83 to finish +23 for the tournament in a tie for sixth place, just four strokes behind the co-leaders, recording the 18th top 10 finish of her career.  

Madi Meduna shot rounds of 94 and 87 to finish in 19th at +37 for the tournament.  Lauren Waltzer took 22nd at +42, Claire Kirby finished 25th at +47, and Gabby Ramirez finished right behind her in 26th at +48 for the event.

Up Next

The Crusaders have one more event scheduled for the fall portion of their season.  They will tee off next Monday, Oct. 23 at the Chicken Express Classic hosted by Wayland Baptist University.
