Dallas in Second, Burch and Waltzer Among Leaders at Tempest Intercollegiate

GLADEWATER, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team started their season at the Tempester Intercollegiate, hosted by LeTourneau University on Monday.  The Crusaders are in second place at +39, just four strokes behind the leaders, LeTourneau, and with a comfortable 20 stroke lead over third place MUW.  

Kimberly Burch and Lauren Waltzer (pictured) are right in the hunt for the individual lead as well, as the pair are tied for second place at +3, just one stroke behind Hannah Newell of Letourneau.  Halee Johnson of East Texas Baptist is just behindthem in fourth place at +7.  The Yellowjackets occupy spots five through eight on the leaderboard, with three players tied for fifth at +11.

The rest of the Crusaders all sit around the middle of the pack.  Claire Kirby is T14 at +16, Madi Meduna is one stroke behind her and T16, and Gabby Ramirez sits in 21st at +19.

The decisive round two will be played tomorrow, with the shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 am.
