Burch Tied for First at SCAC Championship

KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team finished day one of competition at the SCAC Championship, hosted by Schreiner University, on Monday.  The Crusaders currently sit in fourth place after one round of play with a score of 339 (+51).  They are eight strokes behind the University of St. Thomas and 13 strokes ahead of Schreiner, who sit in fifth place.  Trinity University holds an eight stroke lead over Southwestern Univeresity with a score of 314 to finish day one in first place.

Kimberly Burch is in a tie for first place with Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente of Trinity University having shot a 75 in round one, just one stroke shy of matching her program record low round score of 74.  Burch leads the field in Par 3 and Par 4 scoring, her only real hiccup on the day coming the form of a triple bogey on Hole 3.

Clair Kirby is five strokes outside the top 10, sitting T17 with an 86.  Lauren Waltzer is right behind with an 87, and Gabby Ramirez is in 25th with a 91.  Madi Meduna and and Emma Christensen round out the field for Dallas with scores of 98 and 110, respectively.

The early tee time for round two tomorrow is 7:45 a.m.  Burch will tee off from Hole 10 with the last group at 8:35 a.m.
