Women's Golf Competes at West Region Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up competition in the West Region Invitational hosted by Southwestern University on Tuesday.  The Crusaders finished in eighth place with a two-round score of 701.  They finished 13 strokes abonve Schreiner University and two strokes behind seventh place Texas Lutheran.  Mary Hardin-Baylor won the team event with a two-round score of 615.

Kimberly Burch led the way for UD.  After finishing round one in 14th place with a score of 82, Burch shot a 78 in round two to climb three spots and finish T11.  She was two strokes behind a top 10 finish, and seven strokes outstide the top five.  Kiona Hsiu of Trinity University took the individual crown, finishing +2 for the tournament.

Claire Kirby finished with a two-round score of 177, climbing two spots to 34th with an 87 in round two, shaving three strokes off her round one score.  Gabby Ramirez and Lauren Waltzer finished 38th and 39th with scores of 181 and 183, respectively, and Madi Meduna finished T45 with a two-round score of 190.  

Up Next

This was the final regular season event for the Crusaders.  They will now prepare for the SCAC Championship, which begins on Monday, April 17 in Kerrville, Texas.
