Women's Golf in Second Place After Round One of The Whitney

WHITNEY, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up day one of their spring home event, The Whitney, on Monday.  The Crusaders currently sit in second place in the field of four teams with a score of 372.  They are six strokes ahead of Texas Lutheran and East Texas Baptist, who are tied at 378.  Dallas is a distant second to Pomona-Pitzer, the #11 team in the nation, who lead with a score of 328.

The Crusaders are tightly packed on the individual leaderboard.  Madi Meduna currently leads the pack after shooting an 87 to finish the day in eighth.  Kimberly Burch is in ninth with a 93, and Lauren Waltzer is T10 with a 94 on the day.  Gabby Ramirez sits in sole possession of 12th with a 98, and Claire Kirby is T13 with a 99.

All five of Pomona-Pitzers golfers occupy the top 10, with Emily Watson of ETBU holding first place with a 77 in round one.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
