Dallas In Sixth After Round One of Space City Classic

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team started the spring portion of their season at the Space City Classic on Monday.  After one round of play, they sit in sixth place with a total score of 341.  They have a 14 stroke lead over seventh place Schreiner and are 12 strokes behind fifth place LeTourneau.  Concordia University-Texas sits in the lead with a score of 310.

Kimberly Burch picked up right where she left off in the fall, leading the pack for the Crusaders in a four-way tie for fourth place.  She co-led the field with three birdies on the day, finishing the round with a score of 77 (+6) at just three strokes behind the leader, Julia Moss of Concordia-Texas.

The rest of the field for Dallas finished within four strokes of each other.  Lauren Walzter shot an 86 to finished T28, Clair Kirby shot an 88 to finish 31st, and Madi Meduna and Gabby Ramirez both shot a 90 to finished T34.

Round two is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow (Feb. 28).
