Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season with Fifth Place Finish
THACKERVILLE, Okla. - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of their season by hosting the Crusader Invitational. With Monday's round suspended due to inclement weather, a single round of 18 was played on Tuesday. The Crusaders took eighth place in the field of 10 schools with a final score of 347; they finished two strokes ahead of LeTourneau University and five strokes behind the University of St. Thomas. Our Lady of the Lake were the champions with a score of 331, with Concordia-Texas coming in second with a score of 337.
Only five strokes separated first place from 10th, and Kimberly Burch was smack in the middle of that race as she paced the team with a score of 82. At +10, she was just two strokes from tying for second, and three strokes behind the winner, Emily Watson of East Texas Baptist.
Lauren Waltzer finished in a five-way tie for 22nd with a score of 87, just three strokes from a top 10 finish. Claire Kirby and Gabby Ramirez rounded out the pack for Dallas, both finishing with a score of 89.
