Crusaders Wrap Up Day One of Tempest Intercollegiate

GLADEWATER, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up day one of competition in the Tempest Intercollegiate, hosted by LeTourneau University, on Monday.  Teh Crusaders finished the day in fifth place in the field of eight schools with a one round score of 342.  They are currently 18 strokes ahead of Corban University and six strokes behind East Texas Baptist.

Concordia-Texas currently sits atop the leaderboard with a score of 311, four of their five golfers in the top 10 of the individual leaderboard.

Lauren Waltzer shot an 83 to lead Dallas after 18 holes, currently tied for 16th.  Kimbery Burch and Gabby Ramirez are in a three-way tie for 18th after shooting 84, and Claire Kirby is T28 with a 91 in round one.

Waltzer is three strokes outside the top 10 and six strokes from the podium.  Karen Lee of UTD has a one stroke lead over her teammate, Karen Alvarez, to lead in the individual leaderboard at +3 for the tournament.

The tournament is scheduled to conlcude tomorrow with round two.
