Kimberly Burch Finishes Third in Tempest Intercollegiate

GLADEWATER, Texas - The University of Dallas women's golf team wrapped up play in their 36 hole Tempest Intercollegiate tournament this afternoon.  The Crusaders finished in seventh out of the field of nine schools with a team score of +135 after shooting 364 on the final day, four strokes behind Hardin-Simmons who overtook them with a round two score of 355.

Kimberly Burch finished day one in sole possession of second place with a score of 75, sitting five strokes off the leader and eventual champion Sydney McConnell of Mary Hardin-Baylor.  Burch was in a tight battle with Sarah Kmiecik (MHB) for the runner up spot, Kmiecik just one stroke behind her after the first day.  The two would switch spots by the end of day two, Burch claiming a program-best third place finish with a round two score of 76.  Clair Kirby had the next best score for the Crusaders in the tournament, finishing T31 at +36 (86, 94).

The Crusaders are back at it next week, as they will play in the Alamo City Championship on Monday, Oct. 11, and Tuesday, Oct. 12.
