Schreiner Pulls Away in Second Half to Defeat Dallas

December 15, 2023

KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference game against Schreiner University 68-40 on Friday, slipping to 7-4 on the year and 2-1 in conference play.

Things were tight after 20 minutes of play.  Schreiner had the slight edge in the first two quarters, though both teams struggled to finish in the second period, and the Mountaineers took a five-point lead into halftime.

From there, the Crusaders strained to get back into the game but never quite found their footing.  It wasn't for lack of trying, as Dallas created more opportunities than Schreiner, outshooting them 43-32 in the second half.  The Crusaders just couldn't get their chances to fall, as they shot under 20% from the field across the third and fourth quarters.

Maria Dicenta, Adryan Alvarez, and Alyssa Sullivan (pictured) each shared the team lead with seven points on the night.  Imani Hardin led Dallas with 10 rebounds.
