December 2, 2023

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team defeated Centenary College 69-51 on Saturday, improving to 7-3 overall on the year and 2-0 in conference play.

The Crusaders were in the driver's seat from start to finish.  They held the Ladies to just six field goals on 16% shooting in the first half while shooting 53% themselves to cruise into halftime with an 18-point lead.

Head coach Bri Sims felt the game was firmly in control, and saw to it that the bench saw lots of action in the second half, with 15 Crusaders taking to the court.  Dallas led by as many as 22 points in the third quarter and were able to see out the comfortable win.

The Crusaders have now won by at least 15 points in five of their seven wins this season.  At 7-3 on the year, this is the program's best start through 10 games since the 2016-17 season.

Tessa Hastings led the team with 13 points, going 4-of-10 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line.  Caroline Croft (pictured) seemed destined for a triple-double after the first half, with five rebounds, six points and seven assists at the break.  She finished the game one assist away from a double-double, ending the night with 10 points, nine assists and six rebounds.
