Crusaders Knocked Out of SCAC Championship by TLU

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their quarterfinal match against Texas Lutheran 63-54 on Friday, eliminating them from the SCAC Championship Tournament.

The Crusaders fell behind 19-7 in the first quarter, going just 1-of-5 from the field.  They were able to shave a point off the deficit, outscoring the Bulldogs 12-11 in the second quarter, but still trailed by 11 at the half.

The rest of the game was fought to a near stalemate, with Dallas having the slight edge in the second half.  But with the Bulldogs mathcing them nearly point for point, Dallas could not close the gap.  They cut the deficit down to five points with 1:40 left on the clock, but that would be the closest they got as TLU secured the win.

Alyssa Sullivan led the team with 11 points, going 4-of-7 from the field.  Tessa Hastings and Imani Hardin each added 10, Hardin also leading the team with eight rebounds.

The Crusaders end their season with an 11-14 overall record, the program's best since the 2014-15 season, the last year the program posted a winning record.  This was the second time in three years Dallas has clinched a postseason berth, and the first time they have done so in a full-length season since 2015.
