Sullivan Drops Career-High 24 Points in Win Over Centenary

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team won their conference match with Centenary College 73-59 on Friday. they improve to 9-11 on the year and 5-7 in conference play.

The Crusaders came out strong in the first quarter, shooting 55% from the field and were 2-of-4 from three-point range.  They played tough defense, limiting the Ladies to just nine points in the period and dominated the boards.

Centenary answered back in the second quarter.  Dallas continued to play physical defense, and it resulted in the Ladies shooting 17 free throws in the period.  Despite only going 3-of-11 from the field, the Ladies cut into the once double-digit deficit by going 12-of-17 from the free throw line.

The third quarter saw more back and forth action.  Dallas led by as many as 11 points, and with two minutes remaining Centenary had the lead down to just four points.

The Crusaders surged early in the fourth quarter, giving themselves plenty of cushion with a 17-point lead and under five on the clock.  Alyssa Sullivan played a big role in that surge, scoring 10 points in four minutes.

Dallas maintained their double-digit lead the rest of the way, winning by a comfortable 14-point margin.

Sullivan led all players with 24 points, a new career-high, going 10-of-17 from the field with six rebounds and two blocks.  Caroline Croft provided steady production throughout, setting new career-highs in points and assists with 22 and 6, respectively.

The Crusaders have their final home conference match of the season.  They host St. Thomas on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
