Hastings Drops 30 in Win Over Hendrix

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team won their non-conference match with Hendrix College 64-57 on Tuesday.  They improve to 4-5 overall on the year.

The Crusaders got off to a bit of a slow start, shooting just 21% in the first quarter.  They bounced back in the second quarter, coming from behind to take a 26-25 lead into half time.

This was thanks in no small part to a breakout performance by Tessa Hastings, who had 13 points in the second quarter and 20 points total for the first half, already surpassing her previous high mark of 16 points.

Both teams struggled to control the ball to start the third quarter, though Dallas would find their rhythm in the latter stages to give themselves a 12 point cushion going into the fourth quarter.  After leading by as many as 13 points, Hendrix crept back into the game and only trailed by seven with a minute to play.  That would be as close as they got, however, as the Crusaders held on for the win.

Hastings was the star of the show, having the best night of her young Crusader career with 30 points (12-19 FG, 4-5 3PT), six rebounds, and two steals.
