Women's Basketball Downed by Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference match with Colorado College 108-59 on Friday.  They fall to 3-5 on the year and are now 1-2 in conference play.

The Crusaders went 3-6 from the field to take an early 8-3 lead in the first three and half minutes, but the Tigers went on to score 13 unanswered points for what would ultimately be the final lead change of the game.  It was much tighter the rest of the period, though the Tigers would lead by nine after the first 10 minutes.

It was much of the same in the second period.  Neither team was at their best offensively, but the Tigers had steadily built their lead to 18 going into halftime.

Dallas played their best basketball of the night in the third quarter, going 9-15 (60%) from the field and 2-3 from beyond the arc for 20 points.  Unfortunately for them, Colorado were also heating up, as they went on to drop 32 points on the back of a 6-10 team three point shooting performance.

Colorado carried that momentum into the fourth quarter and put the game firmly to bed, handing the Crusaders their second loss of the conference campaign.

Maria Dicenta led the team with 12 points, a new best in her young career as a Crusader.
