McPherson Scores 37 in Loss to Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference matchup with Schreiner 82-67 Friday evening.  They fall to 5-18 on the year and 2-13 in confrerence play.

Schreiner got off to a hot start, jumping out to a quick 10-0 lead as the Crusaders were a bit slow from the start.  They quickly bounced back with eight straight points, and from then on it was anybody's game.  The Mountaineers led by as many as seven points after their initial outburst, but the Crusaders went into the second quarter down by just three.  Dallas quickly took the lead in the second quarter and held on to it for much of the period, but Schreiner reclaimed the lead with four and half minutes left  and slowly built a cushion.  The game was far from over, the Crusaders trailing by just nine points at the break.

The Mountaineers led in the third quarter by as many as 12 points, but the period was fought to a stalemate, the deficit for Dallas still nine points going into the fourth quarter.  The Mountaineers pulled away with some clutch shooting, particularly from beyond the arc, and the Crusaders couldn't answer in kind.

Canai McPherson dropped a season-high 37 points, scoring 30 or more for the second time this season.  Imani Hardin notched a double-double with 15 points and led all players with 12 rebounds.
