IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference mathcup with St. Thomas 79-57 this evening. They fall to 5-13 on the year and 2-8 in conference play.
The Crusaders struggled from the off, making just one field goal in the first quarter. Though they had a great offensive second quarter, going 8-16 from the field, they could do little to stop the Celts, who shot 69% in the period. St. Thomas would take a 15-pooint lead into the break as a result.
Though things were much closer after the first period, the Crusaders were never able to cut into the deficit. The Celts gradually expanded their lead and got their revenge for their earlier defeat at the Crusaders hands a few weeks ago.
Canai McPherson led the Crusaders with 19 points, with Imani Hardin the next closest with 10 points; she was one board away from a double-double.
