Crusaders Defeated by Trinity On the Road

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their conference matchup with trinity University 91-48 this evening.  They fall to 4-9 on the year and 2-4 in conference play.

The Crusaders took an early 5-2 lead in the first two minutes and held it as long as they could, but Trinity took a 6-5 lead with six and a half left in the first quarter and never looked back.  Dallas did well to keep themselves in the game, trailing by eight after the first period, but the Tigers took firm control in the second quarter.  Trinity went into the break with a healthy 23-point lead.

Though things were much more even in the third quarter, the Crusaders could not cut into the deficit and were never closer than 23 points off the lead.  A dominant fourth quarter saw the Tigers run away with it, handing the Crusaders their biggest loss of the season.

Canai McPherson was the lone Crusader to crack double digit points, leading the team with 12.  Madeline Stephens was a board and a bucket from her first double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
