Millsaps Come Back to Defeat Crusaders

JACKSON, Miss. - The Univertsity of Dallas women's basketball team lost their non-conference game with Millsaps College 55-48 this afternoon.  They fall to 1-5 on the year.'

The Crusaders were searching for their second win of the season going into today's game, and for a long while it seemed as though they would get it.  Though most of the game was quite even, it seemed like not much was going right for Millsaps on offense, the Crusaders able to hold the Lady Majors to just nine field goals after three quarters of play.  Dallas took a two point lead into halftime, and a three point lead into the fourth quarter.

Millsaps came roaring back in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't due to a sudden outburst on offense.  The Lady Majors went just 4-14 from the field in the final 10 minutes, but went 12-15 from the free throw line as the Crusaders committed a whopping 10 fouls.  Millsaps went 7-8 from the line inside the final two minutes, while the Crusaders went 1-3 from the field and 2-6 from the line in the same span.  It would be enough for Millsaps to overcome the deficit and see out the win on their home court.

Alyssa Sullivan led the crusaders in scoring with 12 points and was one board away from a double-double at nine rebounds.  Maylin Stampley and Imani Hardin both provided solid points off the bench, Stampley with 10 and Hardin with 11.  Hardin also recorded her second double-souble of the season by snagging 12 rebounds.
